In Trix, players have the option to play in teams of two or four. If playing in teams of two, opposite players are partnered with each other, while in teams of four, each player plays individually.
The game features kingdoms and complex modes. In the kingdoms mode, each kingdom can order "Heart King, Queens, Diamonds, Collects" and Trix. On the other hand, the complex mode allows players to order just "complex," which includes all the orders from the kingdoms mode along with Trix.
Players can also duplicate the heart king or queens, which affects the game order values. For example, duplicating the king results in a value of -75 * 2 = 150, and the player who wins the duplicate gets +75. Similarly, duplicating the queens results in a value of -25 * 2 = -50, and the player who wins the duplicate gets +25.
The game also introduces fresh cases, known as "replay game." In Trix, a replay game occurs when there is no partnership and one player has 3 cards of "TWO" and the opposite color of card "THREE," or four "TWO." Additionally, a replay game can be triggered when playing in partnership and each team gets -50 for queens or when a player has either the king or ace from hearts alone or with another card.
